I.Overview
Ultrapure water is the cornerstone of sample preparation, standard
dilution, and instrument rinsing in atomic absorption spectroscopy
(AAS). Trace metal impurities in ultrapure water can directly cause
background interference, reduced sensitivity, and calibration
errors.
AAS ultra-pure water serves as the “zero-background reference” for
trace metal analysis, requiring a three-barrier system of chelating
resin, sub-boiling distillation, and inert storage and
transportation to achieve ppt-level metal control. For high-risk
elements such as Hg and Pb, it is recommended to configure
dedicated purification pathways and strictly adhere to the
“pre-rinsing of pipettes + use immediately after preparation”
principle to ensure the accuracy of ppb-level detection.
