DJI Phantom Vision FAQ:
Q: How far can the Vision fly away from the transmitter?
A: Live video feed range is around 1,000 feet during optimal
conditions. Controller transmitter range is around 1500-2,000 feet
in the USA. This is further away than you can see the Phantom.
Q: How long is the flight time on a battery charge and how long
does the battery take to recharge?
A: Flight times of around 25 minutes and charge time is close to 2
Q: Can you update the firmware on board the Phantom Vision?
A: Yes with Naza assistant software on PC or Windows only.
Q: Are replacement parts available yet?
A: We have them on order and will list them here when available.
Q: What kind of smart phone do I need for use with the Vision?
A: You need a iPhone with at least iOS6 or Android operating
Q: Is there any image stabilization built in?
A: Not in the camera. However there is flight stabilization built
into the quad copter that helps stabilize the images. You can also
edit it in various image and video editing software.
Q: My Phantom 2 Vision makes a buzzing noise when it's on. Is this
A: Yes. The internal flight control system makes a buzzing noise
when it's powered on. This is normal.
Q: How low can I let my flight battery get and still be safe?
A: We recommend landing or flying close to the ground with less
than 15% charge remaining. This is because the voltage can drop
faster than you expect when your battery is this low. If the
battery gets too low your Phantom Vision will loose power rapidly
and you will most likely meet the ground much faster than you want.
Q: Should I discharge the battery once in a while to a lower amount
to keep it healthy?
A: The owner's manual recommends every 20 cycles you discharge the
battery to around 8%. We suggest using caution flying with the
battery this low. It can drop in voltage without warning causing a
loss in power and a hard crash and damage. LiPo batteries can have
a steep voltage drop when they are low usually with no warning.
Just like when flying a full scale aircraft you should leave
yourself a reserve for safety.

-The hardware mounting and software tuning are all done before
delivery, it is ready to fly the moment you unpack the package,
just charge the LiPo and install transmitter batteries and some
accessories like propellers.
-Phantom contains a remote controller and receiver, which help the
user to completely avoid the inconvenience of purchasing such
things. The only thing you need to do is to add TX batteries (4x AA
dry cell). The 2.4 G ISM frequency makes the effective control
distance up to 300 meters (can be impacted by the specific flight
environment). The frequency hopping anti-interference design allows
multiple remote controllers to work at the same time, and provides
a reliable remote communications link.
-Phantom has an integrated flight dynamics system, the Naza-M + GPS
multi-rotor autopilot system, as well as the dedicated remote
controller and receiver. Flight parameters and functions have been
setup before delivery, so you can fly your Phantom the moment you
receive it. The proven stability of the Naza-M autopilot system
allows you to easily achieve great flight performance.
-Phantom also has the Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC)
function of the Naza-M autopilot system. Usually, the forward
direction of a flying multi-rotor is the same as the nose
direction. By using Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC), wherever
the nose points, the forward direction has nothing to do with nose
direction: In course lock flying, the forward direction is the same
as a recorded nose direction. In home lock flying, the forward
direction is the same as the direction as the direction from home
point to the multi-rotor.
-Phantom also has the failsafe function of the Naza-M autopilot
system. This means when the communication between the Main
Controller and the transmitter is disconnected, the outputs of all
command sticks from controller will go to the center position. If
the GPS signal is good enough, the system will automatically
trigger Return To Home and landing safely.
-Phantom has an external removable camera mount for you to mount
light and handy cameras (GoPro for example) or other video shooting
